Our impact

How Our Funding Helps Disc Golf Grow.

Community Support in Action

The PDGA Foundation mission is centered on transforming community passion into measurable, lasting global change.

Through our core grantmaking pillars—Youth & Education (including partnerships with EDGE, UPlay, and others, as well as the Scholastic Grants program), International Development via the Marco Polo and with the assistance of our partner, the Paul McBeth Foundation, Diversity & Outreach, and Throw Green Environmental Grants—our reach extends from local school gymnasiums and underserved neighborhoods to emerging disc golf communities across the globe.

By funding disc golf programs in schools, efforts to grow diverse communities, direct educator awards, course installations and rehabilitations, and equipment donations, we empower grant recipients to cultivate the next generation of players and establish accessible disc golf infrastructure where it is needed most.

Accountability & Transparency

Measuring What Matters

Every grant tells a story of opportunity, inclusion, and/or stewardship—whether it is a school introducing hundreds of students to their first throws, a community clinic breaking down barriers for underrepresented groups, or sustainable course design projects preserving our natural spaces. To honor the trust of our donors and partners, the Foundation is dedicated to rigorous, transparent outcomes. We strive to continuously track key outcome baselines—such as schools and youth served, equipment distributed, clinics hosted, and demographic growth—and to publish annual impact reports that showcase the tangible, enduring difference every dollar makes in growing the sport.

Youth & Scholastic Foundations

PDGA Youth and Education and Scholastic Grant

This program supports school-affiliated clubs and advocacy groups to introduce younger generations to the sport.

Massive Youth Reach

The PDGA provided a financial grant to our partners at the Educational Disc Golf Experience (EDGE). Backed by this funding, EDGE introduced disc golf to an estimated 54,700 youths through newly partnered schools in 2025 alone. PDGA also provided that same grant to Universal Play Disc Golf (UPlay) that introduced the sport to over 2,500 youth, and also over 60 teachers and administrators, expanding the potential for further reach into the future. Teaching HOW to teach the sport is just as important as is teaching the kids, with regard to sustainability!

Scholastic Club Support

The program also provided direct $500 grants to individual elementary, middle, and high school clubs across the U.S. and Canada to cover essentials like baskets, discs, travel, and junior memberships. A total of $16,550 was distributed to 38 school programs in 2025.

Seed Funding for Growth

The program awarded individual grants to support innovative workshops, recruitment clinics, and equipment packages.

Sustainable Demographics

In 2025, the committee focused on treating these awards as ‘seed’ grants designed to trigger measurable, self-sustaining demographic shifts rather than one-time events.
