Youth and Education programming endeavors to support changemakers who wish to share their love of disc golf with young people in educational and community settings. Youth and Education grants are meant to encourage and create opportunities for competitive junior disc golf with an emphasis on learning, playing, and enjoying the sport.

Scholastic Club Grant
Eligibility & Evaluation Criteria
501(c)(3) Disc Golf Advocacy Organizations
This grant provides financial support to 501(c)(3) advocacy or education-based organizations with missions that closely align with ours. Nonprofit organizations dedicated to the principles of professionalism, integrity, accountability, diversity, and inclusion are encouraged to apply for funding.
Scholastic Club Grant
This grant is available to elementary, middle, and high school teachers, coaches, volunteers, or administrators who wish to supervise, or currently supervise, a school-affiliated club in the United States and Canada. The PDGA Scholastic Club must be recognized by the school as an official club. Clubs must have regularly scheduled meetings and offer skills-based teaching. Funds may be used for equipment, uniforms, baskets, travel, events, PDGA junior memberships, and other administrative support.

Applications are due no later than September 15 of the year preceding the requested funding.
Scholastic Club Grant
Applications will be accepted between January 1 and November 1. Applicants may apply for a grant in successive years.

Diversity & Outreach

The Diversity and Outreach grant program encourages members of the PDGA to design and implement ways to move the PDGA membership, and the sport of disc golf, toward greater diversity globally. These grants will provide financial assistance for innovative projects, programs, workshops, and activities that strengthen excellence in diversity and outreach for under-represented populations within the PDGA membership. These under-represented populations include Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), as well as women and girls.

Awards can be up to $750.
Eligibility & Evaluation Criteria
Applications may be submitted by any PDGA member in good standing, however, teams may consist of non-PDGA members. Applicants must not have been awarded any other PDGA grants for the same project.
Diversity and Outreach grants must not fund tangible assets (i.e. computers/computer hardware, etc.) that will revert to the owner after the project is complete and are not intended to fund businesses or business plan development.

Grant applications will be accepted year-round (Note: the process may take up to 4 months). Review of applications by the Diversity and Outreach Committee will continue contingent on available funds.
Application Process
Applications will be reviewed on the criteria listed below. The proposed project should:
- Strengthen the PDGA’s commitment to diversity and outreach.
- Reach a historically under-represented group within the PDGA membership.
- Contain specific goals/outcomes.
- Be consistent with the PDGA’s mission and strategic plan.
- Have clearly defined starting and ending points.
- Address sustainability. (How do you plan to retain/continue this growth?)
A signature page signed by each team member is required. Scanned documents are acceptable. A brief 30 second – 1 minute video describing the project may be submitted along with the application.
Throw Green

The objective of the Throw Green environmental grant program is to encourage and incentivize disc golfers to design and implement ways to create more environmentally sustainable courses and events, and to educate and inform the global disc golf community about environmental stewardship. These grants will provide financial assistance for innovative projects that aim to improve and safeguard the natural environments where disc golf is played.

Awards can be up to $500.
These grants are available to players, clubs, tournament directors, course creators and maintainers.
Grants can be used for many purposes, including but not limited to:
- Projects, programs, events, activities intended to increase sustainability and knowledge of sustainable practices. For example, soil erosion avoidance and mitigation, removal of invasive species, course clean-ups, planting of trees and other restorative/protective actions. Grants may also be used on projects focused on protecting and preserving natural habitats, wildlife corridors and ecosystems.
- Equipment or other material items used to promote environmental protection and sustainability. For example, purchasing recycling equipment or course informational signage.

- Address sustainability. How do you plan to retain/continue the progress made in your project or event? How can your project be scaled, added to, reproduced by other members and continued into the future?
Marco Polo / International

The Marco Polo grant program supports the introduction of disc golf into new countries and strengthens its development in other countries around the world.

A PDGA Europe Disc Golf Development Fund was introduced in 2022. See the Europe Disc Golf Development Grant Program for more info.
Eligibility & Evaluation Criteria
- Funding is for programs and projects in countries outside of the USA, Canada, and Europe.
- Applicants must be 18 and a current PDGA member.
- PDGA staff, consultants and Board are not eligible for grants.
- Recipients must submit progress reports, including, within one month after project completion a final report for projects lasting 3 months or less, as well as quarterly reports for projects lasting longer than 3 months. These reports should be well written with the intent of publication by PDGA, and should include photos of the activities, and other supporting information such as press coverage, testimonial and thank you letters.
- Grants may be used to fund purchases and activities for 12 months from the date of award approval. Applications that include activities scheduled prior to the date of notification will not be considered.
